Autumn Hedgerow

Cow Parsley & Wildflowers on my morning walk

Hedgerow Mornings

As the autumn equinox arrives, my morning walks take on a different rhythm. The air is cooler now, carrying that crisp edge that makes you breathe more deeply. The light feels softer, golden, as though the day itself is slowing down. It’s in these quiet early hours, when the world is balanced between day and night, that I find some of my richest inspiration.

Autumn Inspiration for Flicker & Scent

The hedgerows are shifting with the season. Blossoms have given way to berries—blackberries hanging heavy, rosehips glowing red, and hawthorn dotted with little jewels. The leaves are just beginning to turn, hints of amber and russet woven through the green. Even the scent is different: earthy, grounding, touched with smoke and damp moss.

On these walks I notice the smallest details: dew sparkling on cobwebs like tiny lanterns, the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot, the way a low sun casts long shadows across the path. These moments stay with me, and more often than not, they guide the blends and designs I create.

Flicker & Scent was born from this ritual of noticing. Autumn reminds me that nature is always offering balance—light and dark, growth and rest. The hedgerows echo this shift, and so do the pieces that come out of my workshop.

Hedgerow Berries

My Hedgerow Berries wax melts were created from these very walks, inspired by the richness of autumn fruit and the grounding calm of woodland paths. With notes of juniper berry, bergamot, clary sage and patchouli, they’re like bringing the wild beauty of the hedgerows indoors.atever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Then there’s Falling Leaves—a cosy, autumnal blend that mirrors the crunch of leaves underfoot and the warmth of golden light through the trees. It’s a scent that captures the comfort of the season, the kind that makes you want to curl up and let the outside world slow down with you.

This love of the hedgerow spills over into my clay work too. I often gather sprigs of cow parsley on my walks to press into clay, creating coasters and hanging decorations that hold the delicate imprint of the plant. Each one is unique, just as each morning walk is never the same twice. They carry the memory of the lane and the fleeting beauty of wildflowers, frozen in time.

Every product I make—whether it’s a wax melt, a coaster, or a little hanging decoration—is a way of holding onto these fleeting moments. They’re designed to bring a touch of autumn’s quiet magic into your home, so you can pause, breathe, and feel connected to the season wherever you are.

The hedgerows are more than scenery to me. At the turning of the equinox, they remind me to slow down, to notice the beauty in change, and to embrace the balance of the seasons. That’s the same gentle ritual I hope to share with you through every piece I create.
